People sometimes ask me which one I am first: author, screenwriter or producer. The truth is, I didn't even know. Until this week, I would say all three. However, I have learned that in order to be successful, you have to focus on one thing, become the best at it, and only then can you move on to the next. Setting realistic expectations without holding yourself back in the process, is the key.

I used to think I had to juggle everything at once, proving I could write a novel, craft a script, and plan a production all in the same breath. The reality is, that pressure only left me scattered, questioning my process and caused an excessive amount of delays. Now I understand growth isn't about sprinting in three directions at once, it's about walking one path at a time, building a solid foundation that will support everything else when the moment is right.

Right now, my first and only focus is sharpening my skills as an author. Writing consistently, finishing my novel before the year is complete, and building the discipline to see my ideas through. Once I have accomplish that goal, my mind will be at peace to move on to the next. Becoming excellent in one area will only make me stronger when I step into the next.

This mindset shift has lifted a weight off my shoulders. Instead of feeling behind, I feel grounded. Instead of chasing everything at once, I'm choosing to focus on my goals one at a time. Don't get me wrong, my aim is to complete ALL my goals. I just will be kinder to myself in the process.
